Gods own country celebrate occasions in unique style with warmth of traditions. The Maramon Convention in the mild winters is one of the biggest Christian conventions in Asia. It is during the month of February on the wide sand-bed of the river Pampa below the Kozhenchery Bridge that the Maramon Convention takes place annually.

It is organised by Mar Thoma Evangelical Association, the missionary side of the Mar Thoma Church. The original resource and development of this get together can be tracked to the great revival activity which collected force during the restructuring period in the Syrian Church of Kerala under the revolutionary management of Abraham Malpan in the latter part of the 19th Century. Maramon and Kozhencherry , on the financial institutions of the river Pampa, 16 miles eastern of Tiruvalla, have been known as centres of Christian culture and influence for hundreds of years.
Maramon is also popular as the beginning place of Palakkunnathu Abraham Maplah, an innovator of the reformation in the Syrian Church of Malabar in the 19th century. The city has the additional difference of being the location of a spiritual collecting known as Maramon convention.
The Maramon Convention shows co-operation and partnership between different parts of Church in Kerala. It encourages ecumenical perspective. It is also a resource of spiritual motivation and enlightenment for countless numbers.
