Trip Overview
Tucked away in the northernmost reaches of India, Ladakh is a place that doesn't quite look real until you're standing in it. Cradled between the Karakoram and the Himalayas, this high-altitude desert stretches across stark mountains, turquoise lakes, and valleys so quiet you can hear your own footsteps. It's a region shaped by extremes — bone-dry air, brilliant blue skies, snow-capped peaks, and some of the highest motorable roads on Earth.
Ladakh isn't just a destination; it's an experience that rewires how you think about landscape and scale. Ancient Buddhist monasteries cling to cliffsides, prayer flags snap in the wind, and centuries-old trade routes wind through valleys once used by caravans crossing the Silk Road. Whether you're drawn in by the raw geography, the deep-rooted culture, or the promise of adventure, Ladakh has a way of leaving a mark that outlasts the trip itself.
This 5 Nights / 6 Days journey is designed to give you a well-rounded taste of Ladakh — from the historic charm of Leh town to the golden dunes of Nubra Valley and the otherworldly shores of Pangong Lake.
Leh Town — The beating heart of the region, Leh blends old-world charm with a laid-back traveler vibe. Its bustling market, tucked-away cafés, and centuries-old palace make it the perfect base to start and end your journey.
Leh Palace — A nine-story marvel perched above the town, once home to the royal family of Ladakh. Modeled after the Potala Palace in Lhasa, it offers sweeping views over Leh and the surrounding mountains.
Shanti Stupa — A gleaming white-domed structure built by Japanese Buddhist monks, offering one of the best sunset views in Leh.
Hall of Fame Museum — Built by the Indian Army, this museum honors the soldiers who've served in the region and gives visitors insight into Ladakh's terrain, culture, and military history.
Spituk Monastery — One of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh, home to a striking collection of ancient thangkas, statues, and masks.
Khardung La — Among the highest motorable passes in the world at 5,359 meters, this legendary road connects Leh to Nubra Valley and is a bucket-list drive in its own right.
Nubra Valley — A dramatic shift in scenery, where cold desert sand dunes meet snow-capped peaks. Once a key stop on the ancient Silk Route, it's now known for its surreal landscapes and Bactrian camel rides.
Hunder Sand Dunes — Home to Ladakh's rare double-humped Bactrian camels, a leftover legacy of the old trade caravans.
Pangong Lake — Perhaps Ladakh's most famous sight, this high-altitude lake stretches into Tibet and shifts through unbelievable shades of blue depending on the light. Camping by its shores is an experience travelers rarely forget.
Chang La Pass — At 5,360 meters, this is one of the world's highest motorable passes and a dramatic gateway between Pangong and Leh.
Shey Palace — The former summer capital of Ladakh, known for its giant gilded Buddha statue.
Thiksey Monastery — Often compared to the Potala Palace for its tiered architecture, this working monastery is one of the most photographed sites in Ladakh.
Druk White Lotus School (Rancho School) — Made famous by the film 3 Idiots, this school is celebrated for its eco-friendly design and inspiring approach to education.
While this particular itinerary is built around sightseeing and scenic drives, Ladakh is also one of the world's premier trekking destinations, and it's worth knowing what the region has to offer if you're planning a longer stay or a future adventure trip.
Ladakh isn't just about admiring the view — it's a playground for adventure seekers too.

Day by Day
Your journey begins the moment you land at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, where our representative will be waiting to receive you and take you straight to your hotel. Leh sits at a serious altitude, so we've kept today deliberately light — no sightseeing, no rushing around, just time for your body to adjust. Altitude sickness is no joke here, and rest on day one goes a long way. If you're feeling up to it once evening rolls in, a slow stroll through the local market is a nice way to get your first real taste of the town. Stay overnight in Leh.
With acclimatization behind you, today is for exploring. After breakfast, head out to the Hall of Fame Museum, the Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and the centuries-old Spituk Monastery — each offering a different window into Ladakh's history and spirit. Once the sightseeing wraps up, spend some time wandering Leh Market, where you can browse local handicrafts, grab a coffee, or just people-watch for a while. Head back to the hotel for the night. Overnight stay in Leh.
Today brings one of the trip's biggest highlights — the drive over Khardung La, sitting at a jaw-dropping 5,359 metres and counted among the highest motorable roads on the planet. The road itself is an experience, with the Himalayas unfolding around you at every turn. By the time you reach Nubra Valley, the landscape has completely transformed. Once settled in, make your way to the Hunder Sand Dunes, where you can opt for a ride on the region's rare double-humped Bactrian camels — a sight you won't easily forget. Overnight stay in Hunder, Nubra Valley.
Today's drive takes you along the Shyok route toward Pangong Lake, and honestly, nothing quite prepares you for that first glimpse of the water. The lake stretches across the India-Tibet border, and its colour shifts through shades of blue that seem almost unreal. Once you arrive, there's little to do but sit back and take it all in — the evening light on Pangong is something worth slowing down for. Overnight stay near Pangong Lake.
Try to be up early today — sunrise over Pangong is one of those moments people talk about long after the trip is over. After breakfast, you'll begin the drive back toward Leh, crossing the equally striking Chang La Pass at 5,360 metres. Along the way, if time allows, we'll stop at Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery, and the Druk White Lotus School, better known to many as the Rancho School. You'll check back into your hotel in Leh by the end of the day. Overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast, it's time to head to Leh Airport for your flight onward. As you leave, you'll be carrying more than just luggage — the raw landscapes, the quiet monasteries, and the sheer scale of Ladakh have a way of staying with you long after the trip ends.
