How to Reach Agra
By Flights
The nearest International Airport to Agra is Delhi Airport. Agra also has its own airport well connected with Delhi and Mumbai. Mostly flights are regular and on time, hence you can save lots of time to get in the city. Moreover there are several other flight service connecting Varanasi, Jaipur, Kolkata and many more which shall help you to fly in Agra from anywhere across the country.
By Train
Agra has five Railway stations to reach Agra without much of hassle-bustle. They are:-
Agra Cantt (AGC)
Agra Fort Station (AF)
Raja ki Mandi (RKM)
Agra City
Idgah Railway Station
Apart from the above railway stations, there are many trains every single day that connects Delhi to Agra. Moreover, it is one of the major station on train lines for the routes of Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi- Chennai. There are direct and regular trains connecting Agra to Jaipur.
Palace on Wheels, one of the Luxury Train halts at Agra while it is on its eight day trip from Rajasthan to Agra.
The only con for travelling via train is heavy fog at night during winters i.e. the month of December-January. Apart from that Indian Railways facilitates all the basic necessities to give you a pleasant travelling experience.
By Bus
There is huge number of buses each day connecting Delhi-Agra which is just 200 km away and take only 4-5 hours. There are two major bus stands named as Idgah Bus Stand and ISBT at Transport Nagar. There are even buses connecting other cities of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. There are several private agencies providing Luxury bus services which can be very expensive and might also be late sometimes.
By Taxi
If you love to travel through roads with fully enjoying sightseeing, then book a full-time government authorized taxi facilities. It might be slightly costly but it gives you complete freedom to explore in and out of the city, Agra and even make your own choice of travel nearby places.
By Road
From Delhi- (National Highway) NH-2, from Jaipur- NH-11, from Gwalior – NH-3 (Mumbai-Agra Highway), from Lucknow/Kanpur – NH-2 (Ending to Kolkata) are some of the major road service connecting to Agra and allowing you to smoothly reach the city of Agra.
For traveling inside the city there are several means of public transportation such as Tongas, electric buses, electric tempos, Auto-rickshaws, and cycle-rickshaws.
